A woman has left social media users gobsmacked with her washing machine revelation. The woman, named Faith, took to the Facebook group “Cleaning tips and tricks” to share before and after snaps of her washing machine drawer compartment.
She confessed she was unaware that the drawer could be completely removed for cleaning until she stumbled upon a button that released it.
After realising how grubby the drawer was, she gave it a good scrub with warm water, washing up liquid and a toothbrush, before sharing her results. She also admitted: “How on earth did I not know this drawer came out? !” Many other group members also confessed they were clueless about the button that releases the drawer, with Mandy commenting: “They say you learn something everyday….. Well today I learned this thank you x.”
JJ said: “Really this top section comes out?!” Mary added: “Are you serious? I’m forever bashing my knuckles trying to clean the inside and you’re telling me this whole time I could have just simply pulled it out? Running off to try now.”
By taking out the drawer and cleaning it separately, you could save yourself some time as a gunk-free drawer will likely keep the machine cleaner for longer.
Eileen shared a handy hint with everyone: “Always leave your dispenser drawer slightly open after wash as this helps reduce amount of mould you get.”
However Jayne quipped: “Doesn’t anyone read the manuals any more?”.
