Japanese fashion giant Uniqlo is accelerating its UK expansion, announcing the opening date of its long-awaited Birmingham Bullring store and revealing two more cities set to follow next year.
The Birmingham shop will open its doors on October 16, spread across three floors and offering the brand’s full range of women’s, men’s, kids’ and baby collections. As part of the experience, the store will feature Uniqlo’s UTme! customisable T-shirt station, where shoppers can add their own designs and graphics to their items.
To celebrate, the company is collaborating with Girls On The Go Birmingham, a local health and wellness community group, which will host henna workshops in the weeks leading up to the grand unveiling.
On opening day and Saturday, October 18, the first 100 customers who spend over £60 will receive a free goody bag to create excitement and reward loyal shoppers.
The Bullring opening builds on the brand’s recent arrival in Liverpool earlier this year and marks a key milestone in Uniqlo’s efforts to strengthen its presence across the UK.
Next year, the company will take another major step forward with new stores in Bristol’s Cabot Circus and in Leeds on Briggate, one of the city’s busiest shopping streets.
The Bristol site will be Uniqlo’s first in the South West of England, while the Leeds shop will span around 1,100sqm across two floors.
Alessandro Dudech, COO of Uniqlo UK, said: “Uniqlo remains committed to strengthening its presence within the UK retail sector by expanding both our physical store network and ecommerce capabilities nationwide.
“As part of this strategic initiative, we look forward to introducing Uniqlo to the communities and visitors in the North of England, at the new Leeds location, and simultaneously reaching customers in the South West in Bristol’s Cabot Circus.”
