Sony has announced plans to release a big new PS5 system update that’s sure to make hardcore gaming fans very happy.

The new PS5 system update has been given a September 17 release date, although exact launch times will vary from region to region. Indeed, according to Sony, the update will roll out globally throughout the day.

The new update will introduce a new feature that will allow DualSense controllers to be paired to multiple devices simultaneously. This means you’ll no longer have to pair from scratch when you want to switch to your PC from the PlayStation 5.

As part of the update, users will be able to pair a DualSense or DualSense Pro controller to four devices simultaneously.

This means you could have a controller paired with a PS5, PS5 Pro, PC and smartphone, for example.

Elsewhere, Sony has confirmed plans to introduce more power saving features to the PS5.

The update will add a new option in the settings menu called Power Saver, which will scale back performance for supported PS5 games.

Power Saving will only be available with select games, although additional titles will receive support in the future.

For example, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, Demon’s Souls, and Ghost of Yōtei will receive Power Saving updates in the coming weeks and months.

As for DualSense pairing, instructions can be found below…
