Pakistan left-arm fast bowler Usman Khan Shinwari has announced his retirement from international cricket, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed on Tuesday through a statement shared on the social media platform X.

The 31-year-old pacer represented Pakistan in one Test, 17 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 16 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) between December 2013 and December 2019.

Shinwari made his international debut against Sri Lanka across all three formats.

In only his second ODI, he grabbed five wickets to earn the Player of the Match award. Overall, he claimed one wicket in Test cricket, 34 in ODIs and 13 in T20Is.

The left-armer twice took five-wicket hauls against Sri Lanka in ODIs — 5 for 34 in Sharjah and 5 for 51 in Karachi.

In franchise cricket, Shinwari featured in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), playing for three different teams across various editions and taking 42 wickets in 39 matches.

He was also part of Pakistan’s squad for the 2018 Asia Cup.

Notably, his announcement comes on the opening day of the 2025 Asia Cup.
