Prince Harry visited Ukraine as part of his work for his organisation the Invictus Games, it has been revealed. The Duke of Sussex flew to Poland before taking a train to Kyiv, Ukraine‘s capital.

The trip to the wartorn country came after a meeting behind closed doors with his father King Charles III. Harry has declared he will do “everything possible” to help thousands of Ukrainian soldiers and service personnel injured in the three-year war with Russia.

The Duke of Sussex has said: “We cannot stop the war but what we can do is do everything we can to help the recovery process.”

He then added: “We can continue to humanise the people involved in this war and what they are going through. We have to keep it in the forefront of people’s minds.

“I hope this trip will help to bring it home to people because it’s easy to become desensitised to what has been going on.”

His visit to the warzone comes just hours after he left the UK, which is where he has been since Monday.

Harry’s four-day visit to the UK saw him carry out a number of charitable engagements, including an appearance at the WellChild Awards on September 8. The visit also saw Harry meet with his father for the first time in 19 months on Wednesday.
